Pingback by TNT Podblast » Blog Archive » TNTP 05: The 5th Time’s A Charm — Tuesday June 26, 2007 @ 10:25 pmWell, here i am again...maybe some of the citizens have read what I have written before...maybe not. I personally do not understand how we elect a person of no character to office. This city was built on the blood, sweat and tears of blue colored workers...not the officials, judges, doctors or lawyers. Our fore fathers set forth laws that created EVERYONE as equals. This is not based on their backgrounds, financial situation or family name. Our city officials have sold out to make themselves look better. What do you as citizens of this community want to see? Better paying jobs, lower property taxes, better wages. I am in no way saying that the current mayor has not lived up to her potential...maybe she underestimates herself. This town was not built on blues music, recording artists and etc. I have been to the cross roads in Mississippi where blues was first formed. It's still a struggling town just like us here some 600 miles away. This town is not a tourist town yet...and possibly never will be by living in the past. That's what I believe our current officials are trying to do...draw tourists. They do not believe in the people of this community to strengthen our economy. They are selling out to bigger businesses for the almighty buck. So be it...they have created some jobs, unemployment could be worse. My question to the citizens of this community is this...WHAT IS YOUR MAIN CONCERN? YOUR JOB, FAMILY, WELL BEING? As well as many of you, i have the same concerns...what's the minimun wage in Indiana compared to the growing property taxes. How many of you live from paycheck to paycheck? It's up to all of us to change the direction of this city...not just the upper class. Do you think for one minute that the upper class gives a damn about you and your family? Enough is enough. It's time for a change and I'm not sure that the current candidates have the balls to do what's right for our community...DO YOU? Let's take a stand and do what is right for the community as a whole and not just for individuals. LET'S TAKE BACK OUR CITY. It's up to us...not these yahoos on the board of commissioners...they should be gone anyway. Thanks for reading.
