RNR Hiatus

Filed under: About the Show — Chris @ 8:43 pm

Hi there and happy new year! If you haven't already noticed, the Richmond News Review hasn't seen a new episode for a while. We've talked in the past about why that might be, but it still seems polite to keep our regular listeners updated. So: for now, the RNR is on a bit of a hiatus (hahy-ey-tuhs, –noun, "a break or interruption in the continuity of a work, series, action, etc"), with no current plans for a new episode. If you would like to be a part of our future efforts, or have a particular topic or segment we should take on, please contact us. Otherwise, please check back later, enjoy the show archive, and take care.

Live Broadcast Call-In Show Test Run Tonight

Filed under: About the Show — Chris @ 12:21 pm

We're trying out something new with the Richmond News Review - a live call-in version of the show. We'd like to try it out in a "dress rehearsal" episode prior to this evening's political debate.

If you'd like to participate by calling in to discuss the issues of the day and share your opinion, and if you won't mind being patient through the inevitable technical glitches that can come up in a live broadcast, please join us.

The live broadcast will take place from 8:30 until about 8:50 PM, and may be shorter or longer depending on participation and how well the tech works.   You can join the pre-show chat as early as 8:15 PM.  All of the information you need to listen, chat and call in will be available on our Listen page under the "Live Broadcasts" heading  We'll keep it pretty informal, so don't worry about having anything coherent to say if you do call in.

If things go well, we'll also post the recording of the show as a new episode.

RNR #21: The future of a citizen journalist podcast

Filed under: Episodes — Chris @ 1:04 pm

Long time no podcast, eh? Thanks for being patient.  In an abbreviated episode, I share some thoughts on the origins, purpose and future of this podcast, with nifty sound effects thrown in. The bottom line: we need your input.
